Happy April!

Where did March go? I can’t believe it’s already April! In just two months we’ll be back to visit the beautiful west–Feeling nostalgic as I look at this picture from April of ’93. Those cowgirl roots run deep! Someday soon I’ll write the little story(-ies) of my life that accompanies this pic, and others…but for now, a quick update, then back to practicing!

March was filled with a whirlwind of FUN performances with Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and now for April we’re kicking things off here at Classical Cowgirl with a bunch of exciting solo and chamber music concerts! My darling husband and I start the month off tomorrow with a Duo Concert in Chevy Chase, Maryland. We’re doing some of the standard violin/cello duo repertoire along with my own original compositions and arrangements  Yeehaw! Later this month I’ll be soloing with the St. Louis Orchestra and performing one of my all-time favorite folk pieces, The Lark Ascending. (The cats just love it. Meow.) Trio Volo presents an all Chopin program on the 26th, and I’ll be kicking off May with an all-solo Bach performance at Strathmore! In the meantime, more blogging to come on the awesome, sweet and charming experiences I’ve had playing at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in DC (We’re nearing the one year anniversary of the $10,000 donation concert!).

Stay tuned!
